Raise the Future Honored by the City of Las Vegas During 25th Anniversary Year

By Britt Moore, Director of Communications

On February 4, the City of Las Vegas formally recognized Raise the Future with a ceremonial proclamation at City Hall. Councilman Brian Knudsen and the Ward 1 team honored Raise the Future’s decades of service to children and youth in foster care, as well as our commitment to building permanent family connections in Nevada.

The celebration was especially meaningful as it came during Raise the Future’s 25th anniversary of serving families and youth in Nevada. For a quarter century, the organization has worked alongside communities, partners, and supporters to ensure young people in foster care have the opportunity to experience stability, connection, and lifelong belonging.

The morning began with breakfast at NOW Café, where employees and city support officials gathered to reflect on our impact. The proclamation ceremony followed, with city leaders acknowledging Raise the Future’s role in strengthening families and creating brighter futures for young people from foster care.

The City’s proclamation affirmed the importance of permanency, belonging, and community responsibility in supporting youth who have experienced trauma and instability. It was a meaningful moment to recognize not only the organization’s history in Nevada but also the dedicated staff, board members, volunteers, and partners who make this work possible every day.

We are grateful to the City of Las Vegas for this honor, highlighting 25 years of service in Nevada. Their recognition reinforces a simple truth: every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and connected to a caring adult.

Together, we will continue to create connections, provide support, and open doors of opportunity, ensuring that every young person finds a place to belong, not just today, but for generations to come.
