BECOME A MENTOR (UTAH ONLY)

Being a mentor to a youth who has spent many years in foster care can make a profound difference in their life. These young individuals often lack the support and connection that most youth have with caring adults. By becoming a mentor, you can provide them with the guidance, encouragement, and stability they desperately need. If you are a caring adult looking to make a positive impact, this opportunity might be just what you're looking for.

As a mentor, your role will involve various forms of support. One of the key aspects is providing regular phone calls to the youth. These calls serve as a lifeline, allowing the young person to connect with someone who genuinely cares about their well-being. Your presence and empathy can make a world of difference in their journey through the foster care system. In addition to phone calls, occasional outings can be a great way to bond with the youth you're mentoring. By spending quality time outside of their everyday environment, you can create a safe space for them to open up and share their thoughts and aspirations. These outings also provide an opportunity to engage in activities that they may not have had the chance to experience before.

If you feel called to be a caring adult in the life of a youth who has experienced the foster care system, we encourage you to reach out and explore this mentoring opportunity. Together, we can create a supportive network that empowers these young individuals to thrive despite their past challenges. Your presence and guidance can make a world of difference in their lives, providing them with the love and support they deserve.
