Raise the Future, in partnership with the Clark County Department of Family Services, provides the Foster Parent Pre-Service Licensing Training to all individuals who intend to become licensed foster parents. The training consists of 7 sessions and is offered in weekly cohorts, quarterly in an expedited format, and in English well as in Spanish. The training prepares prospective foster parents in the areas of loss and grief, understanding the trauma kids experience, addressing behaviors and sexual safety, and how to best support teens and youth who are represented in the LGBTQIA+ community, all with an emphasis on reunification being the ultimate goal for kids experiencing the foster care system. Participants are equipped with hands on trauma-healing tools to best support children in their care who have experienced relational trauma, this training also supports their individuals growth and provides interventions to create the safest and most welcoming home. Pre-Service training and relationships built throughout the course then become a bridge for families to feel supported to one another and to stay connected with Raise the Future for additional support services as they begin and navigate their fostering journey.
Raise the Future connects families to additional community resources and services available statewide. Resources include mental health providers, special education resources, child development information, services to support behavioral needs, support groups, and more.

Raise the Future has collaborated with the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development (KPICD) at Texas Christian University to co-create video conversations about a variety of TBRI®-related topics. These conversations employ the expertise and experiences of KPICD and Raise the Future team members to highlight and discuss TBRI® in action. The videos range from 3 to 40 minutes in length and are intended to support continued learning and implementation of TBRI® following completion of the TBRI® Caregiver Training Series.
