A Discussion with Author, Advocate, and Former Foster Youth Elizabeth Sutherland
Elizabeth Sutherland is the author of No Ordinary Liz, in which she chronicles her journey through foster care and beyond as she struggles to find her way in the world and discover her true identity. Her book serves as both a memoir and a guidebook, designed to offer hope for those in foster care, as well as support and resources for foster parents. In this training, Liz shares parts of her personal journey through foster care and her insights as a foster care advocate and educator. This training aims to provide support for families that are currently fostering or have adopted from the foster care system. Liz is passionate about sharing her experience with youth and caregivers to help foster care youth develop their own identities, heal from the challenges of their past, and thrive in their futures.
