On April 16th, our community showed up in a big way. Thanks to the compassion of our viewers, phone and online donors, corporate sponsors, volunteers, and incredible partners at CBS Colorado and 97.3 KBCO, A Day for Wednesday’s Child was a tremendous success—we raised $111,291, surpassing our $100,000 goal!
But the day was about so much more than just numbers. We got to do what we love most: celebrate kids and families. Over 200 people joined us at Boondocks for an afternoon of laughter, games, hugs, and connection—our biggest family event since 2018. It was pure joy to watch siblings reuniting, families making memories, and the community coming together to support a cause that matters deeply.
We also got to share what this work truly means. During the CBS broadcast, we heard from the youth, families, and staff who bring our mission to life. One of those voices was Jalysa, a young woman who reminds us why we do what we do.
Her journey is powerful—and emotional.
It’s a reminder of:
- Why we commit to the long game when supporting youth in foster care
- Why every child deserves someone in their corner
- And why the impact of love and belonging lasts a lifetime
If you haven’t watched Jalysa’s story yet, please do. https://shorturl.at/iRMF6
We promise—it’s worth every second.
None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our staff, board members, and vendors, who poured their hearts into every detail—planning, promoting, hosting, and helping behind the scenes. Your commitment to this work shines through every child’s smile and every story shared.
Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, shared our mission, or showed up. You’ve helped change lives.
We are proud. We are grateful. And we are just getting started.
Still want to support the mission? You can make a difference today. Your gift helps us continue to show up for kids and families all year long.
