Mike Johnston, Mayor of Denver, officially declared April 8 as “A Day for Wednesday’s Child.”

Thank you to our incredible sponsors, supporters, and volunteers who made A Day for Wednesday’s Child so impactful. Together, we raised an amazing $92,256 to help youth in foster care find connection, support, and permanency.

We are especially grateful for our longtime partner, CBS Colorado, and for our generous sponsors: Bow River Capital Partners, American Furniture Warehouse, South State Bank, Complete Business Systems, Holman Automotive, Voodoo Doughnut, Boondocks Food and Fun, MidFirst Bank, KBCO, Lockton Companies, Colorado Health Foundation, and Pax8. We also want to thank our hardworking volunteers, our generous donors, and the Raise the Future Board of Directors, who worked tirelessly to promote and support the event and ensure its success.

This event was a tremendous success because of your generosity, time, and belief in this mission. We couldn’t do this work without you.

If you missed the event, be sure to tune into https://www.cbsnews.com/colorado/wednesdays-child/ to watch all of the impactful stories and interviews shared throughout the day.

SHARE YOUR STORY

During A Day for Wednesday’s Child and throughout the year, Raise the Future partners with CBS Colorado to highlight the powerful stories of families and organizations impacted by foster care and adoption.

Are you interested in sharing your story? We’d love to hear from you. Please reach out to Kristin Fasy at kristin.fasy@raisethefuture.org to get started.

Each week, CBS Colorado highlighted a different child in foster care through the Wednesday’s Child segment, sharing their stories and helping them find connection and belonging.

On April 8, we came together to celebrate them all, along with the families who opened their hearts and the life-changing work of Raise the Future.

Thank you for joining us for our annual day of giving, A Day for Wednesday’s Child, and for helping make brighter futures possible. 💙
